Director's Note:
Not many Australians like me get the chance to travel around Papua New Guinea, and meet the amazing people who live in this extraordinary country. Before making this movie, I knew nothing of the foreign missionaries, men and women who left their home countries far away to live among the people of PNG. They showed me some of their projects, like the new Modilon Hospital buildings in Madang, the Divine Word University and the homes for orphans and medical clinics around Mt Hagen. I was taken up the Sepik River to Amboin and Timbunke, I filmed in Madang and Vanimo, and at Enga and Ialibu in the Western Highlands. I was welcomed by friendly and resourceful Papua New Guineans, proudly working to develop their country. I learned a lot from them. The POLISH MISSIONARIES has now been seen in Australia, Poland, Europe and the USA. I am very proud that this story of the missionaries who came from the other side of the world and fell in love with Papua New Guinea, has now touched many people.
